This compact yard had a severe drop-off at the back of the yard. The clients wanted to increase their square footage, have a place to entertain large groups, and watch TV outdoors. We replaced their existing fence with a horizontal cedar fence that has a steel kick-plate in order to retain and level a few more feet at the back. We focused on screening the neighbor’s new shed, the A/C unit, and utilities along the house. The custom propane fire pit doubles as coffee table and the board form concrete walls help orient the space while creating familiar room sizes. We used tiger wood on the integrated bench and table top.
