Owner/Principal Designer
Angelica Norton, ASLA
Angelica Norton was born in Houston and transplanted to central Texas for college where she earned a BA in Liberal Arts with a focus on creative writing (’04) and Master of Landscape Architecture (’07), both from The University of Texas at Austin. Through using native and regionally-adapted species, she provides low-maintenance and sustainable planting strategies for gardens meant to be experienced beyond merely as a vista or curb appeal. Angelica’s designs explore how to better the lives of her clients through intentional space-making in the landscape and the built environment. She is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
Angelica inherited her green thumb from many generations on her mother’s side, which she's passing on to her daughters, Eloise and Ansley. Outside of designing landscapes, she's also a multi-media artist, writer, podcaster, performer, and sewist - who's always in the mood to dance.
Owner/Creative Director
Matt Norton
Matt Norton grew up in a family where creative outlets were a mainstay of everyday life. His father is a woodworker and construction encyclopedia, his mother is a gifted epicure, and his brother is a true Renaissance man, so it is not surprising that his life led him to Design/Build. OES is his outlet to experience the gratification of seeing ideas become reality on a daily basis. When he’s not working, you will find Matt cooking with his family and friends or making music as Berm and Swale. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Architecture (’08).
Senior Designer
Damon Faulkner
Damon Faulkner grew up with a creative background in fine arts, as well as with a fascination with how things work and how things are built. While in school he naturally gravitated towards the wood and metal shops, where he discovered his love for making and working with his hands. When not working for OES, he can be found in his shop designing and building furniture or spending time with his family, his dog Ripley, and his cats, Neville and Luna. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture (’07) and from the University of Michigan with a Master of Architecture (’10).
OES team member since june 2013
Office Manager
Amber Moreno
Amber is a mom, a yoga teacher, performer and Reiki practitioner. A hostess at heart with a BFA in Acting from Texas State, she delights in secret gardens, tall trees, rivers, poetry, energy medicine, human anatomy, and in offering remedies and restoratives to anyone dragging around a body. She is currently squirming at her desk managing the office at Open Envelope or producing anatomically-supportive video content for Weary Wagon.

Senior Designer/Consultant
Meredith Entrop, PLA
Meredith is a Landscape Architect with 10 years of experience in project design, documentation, and management. She received her MLA from The University of Texas at Austin in 2013 and has since worked at studios in Austin and New York City. She has worked on a range of project types, including civic, hospitality, commercial, corporate, residential and landscape restoration projects across the country. In addition to landscape architecture, she enjoys music, writing, illustration, and time with friends and family.

Junior Designer
Greg Hammond
Greg's long held passion for landscape architecture and design became an avocation during the pandemic, which led to his first job with OES's build team in 2021. He graduated with a BA in Sociology at UT Austin and worked in various demography & research roles in Austin before he joined OES. He has a passion for music (you may have seen him DJ-ing at the Continental Club a few years back), running, exercise, and of course…plants!
OES team member since January 2021
Project Manager
Blake Shaw
Born and raised in a small town in Iowa, Blake has been in the landscaping industry for over 20 years. He has worked in Iowa, Colorado, South Carolina, and Texas. When he’s not working at OES he enjoys exercising, playing guitar, salt water fishing, and hanging out with his family including 3 dogs.
OES Team Member since January 2022
Intern
Eloise Norton
Eloise is interning the summer before 9th grade because she's exceptional at coding and is more adept at social media than her mother, who is writing this blurb until she writes something else. She loves all her pets equally (so don't make her choose), plays basketball, and is about to lug around a bass clarinet in marching band. Eloise is particularly funny, which her father insisted should be included here. She also has great taste in music.
